Being a very central location, Sliema offers
public transport to all destinations on the island. Public transport in
Malta is very cheap and quite efficient. Other means of transport include
taxis or even our traditional 'karozzin' or horse and cart.
Taxis, car hire, motorbike hire and excursions could be easily booked
through an agency, of which many can be found within walking distance
from the hotel. Just across the road, at the bay one can get ferries which
do round Malta trips, or even take you to Valletta quicker and more efficient
than public busses.
Every Sunday one can easily get a bus to Valletta or Marsaxlokk were there
will be open markets till 1pm. The market in Marsaxlokk is a popular tourist
attraction, being mainly a fish market. Malta offers a very rich historical
and cultural background. Having been under the rule of the Arabs, Phoenicians,
Romans and finally the British, one can find a lot of historical monuments
spread round the whole island.
Some places offer the oldest standing monuments in the world. Malta is
a very easy country to go about. All Maltese tend to be very kind and
helpful and best of all, all Maltese can speak English.
